Meet Anakin! Ani is a two legged cat, born without a pelvis or back legs but that doesn't stop him. He is full of love & life! My family and I rescued Anakin and I am caring for him. My family and I are lifelong animal lovers and will give Ani the absolute best possible home, love and care. I post updates, photos and videos of Anakin on his website, Facebook page, Twitter, YouTube and other online sites.

Anakin Vet Update
Anakin went to the vet this morning to be neutered. However since his testicles are still inside he had to have a cryptorchid surgery He was put under anesthesia for the ultrasound and they located his testicles prior to the surgery. He had the surgery immediately after the ultrasound. Our vet was very happy that both testicles were near the surface just under some layers of skin & tissue and she did not have to go into the abdomen at all. The first was taken out easily. The second was harder to find since it moved. Once she found it she had to make another incision to get it out. So my poor baby Anakin has 3 small incisions on his belly with dissolving stitches on the inside and surgical glue on the outside. He had an antibiotic injection and pain medication injection. Then I have more pain medication to give him here at home. Anakin is set up in the hall bathroom with a litter box, water, food & a super comfy bed for right now so I can keep an eye on him. Because if I just turned him loose in the house right now he would be up under my bed where I can't check on him. He did lick a little bit of his food but they said he may not feel like eating much till tomorrow. Right now he is really out of it and looks miserable. I'm going in there to check on him an love on him a lot. He's also going to get some rest and should feel much better in the morning. Thank you so much for all the love, support & well wishes for Ani! You guys are the best!!

Rest easy Ani and get well soon.
ReplyDeleteI am sending lots of purrs Anakin's way. I know when I had to be put under anesthesia a while back, it took me a day or two to get back to normal. Paws crossed that he bounces back as quickly - or quicker!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Ani is home and that the procedure was not too complicated. He does look a little dazed! Probably will not be too active for a couple of days. Wow, what a pretty tail!! Thanks for the update.

We are so glad that Anakin is home recovering and getting some extra loving. Our vet always warns us not to let the kitties jump after surgery (like we could ever stop them). We guess you don't have that worry. Hope he feels like eating tomorrow so he can heal and get back to his old self. Purrs and hugs from the kitties at www.thecatonmyhead.com, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
ReplyDeletePoor baby! But the peeing should stop now. Give him extra loving and cuddles from us all! Pharaoh, Moses and Okun all say Purr!
ReplyDeleteOh my dear sweet Ani, I am so glad the operation was successful and hoping you will soon feel much better! The worst part is you can't figure out what has happened to you or why you feel the way you do. You will soon be your old self and a little more mellow, but right as rain. We all are with you dear boy. Love, hugs and purrs, Kathy
