him his bedding back he did pee on them twice. Once I caught him & set him in the litter boxe and took the bedding back up for a while. It has been asked if he knows when he has to pee. Yes, it is very obvious when Ani has to pee. He gets up off of where ever he is sleeping in the living room & to his litter boxes to go. It was also asked if he doesn't know when he is peeing. I think he must know since he goes to the box and there is not any leaked pee on anything else where he sits or sleeps other than his bedding. The second box has helped but not as much as I hoped so I think I am going to give the pee pads a try. I think he may like them better. I will try keeping one litter box for poop & an empty litter box with a pee pad in it for his pee & see how that goes. I will keep you posted on how it goes. Thank you again for all of your help & suggestions.

Update on Anakin's pee issue.
( if you missed all the discussion, I made a post on Friday 8/3 & answer most of the questions about this in the posts & comments too) I added the second litter box and it seems to be helping. He is using them both for both pee & poop, not one for each though. I kept his bedding & soft toys up for two days and he did use the boxes only for those two days. Once I gave

Perhaps getting rid of the bedding and starting with fresh, and in a new location. Put the boxes where current bedding is...or maybe his food dishes. Something that makes him not to want to pee there anymore.

Thanks for the help! :) The boxes are only 3-4" high so I don't think that's the problem. He does seem to really like the pee pads. So we are making progress.
DeleteWe used to have a Manx that drug her back legs. Apparently she was born without one or two of her vertebra. She was an outdoor cat, because she never knew when she had to pee, and woke up in puddles. The vertebra that told her when to pee was missing. We would lock her up at night in our shed out back (actually a laundry room), and spread wee-wee pads out for her in there. It worked fine for about 10 years. Then she passed away. Everyone told me to put her down because of her disability, but I refused. She would drag her hind legs while walking, but her front was really well developed and she was one of the fastest running cats I had ever seen! I miss little Romi. Much luck with Anakin. He's a little cutie pie!
