Anakin has officially graduated!

Well Anakin has officially graduated! Anakin now has his Hall Bathroom, Hallway, Living Room, Foyer & my Art Room to run around in most of the day. I alternate between Ani & our dog Buddy having the Living room area. Anakin is still very scared of Buddy. I know Buddy won't hurt him but Ani doesn't realize that yet. So we are still introducing them very slowly. I want Ani to not be scared when he is running around exploring right now so it's best I keep them separated. I spend some time yesterday kitten proofing the house. I still remembered all of Trixie & Pixie's hiding places when they were little and got everything blocked off & covered. Anakin has been spending more time with our other cats (Trixie, Pixie, George & Zoe) now too. Trixie & Pixie don't have much to do with him but aren't hissing at him very much anymore either. They just want to observe him from up above somewhere. Zoe doesn't want anything to do with him right now. Zoe is the oldest. She is 14 years old & has always been a one human only kind of cat (yes, that human would be me) Zoe doesn't have much to do with any of the other cats either. George and Ani have been playing some now. George can be a little rough so I always make sure he isn't alone with Anakin so I can grab him from George if I need to. Honestly I think George only gets rough with Ani when he won't stop the "playing". Anakin is just constantly wanting to grab at & bite George and it gets to the point where George just says enough. Overall I think the socializing is going really well :)

Anakin the Explorer

Anakin had a busy day today exploring the house (supervised of course). I had our dog in our other bathroom and just let Ani go exploring the house. This isn't the first time he has been "exploring". I've been bringing him into the other bedrooms and bathroom & letting him look around. Today was different though because he got to check out the living room, kitchen, foyer & my art area. That's a lot of space for this tiny little guy to scoot around in! He went all over, smelling everything, looking behind the couch and under the kitchen table & in all the corners. Ani was fascinated with the pet water fountain in the kitchen. He even got his head wet under the flowing water :) I took some video & will have to work on getting it up soon. I know I'm behind with videos. I've just had a lot going on this week. Hopefully next week I will be back on track *fingers crossed*

Anakin & my other kitties got a package in the mail today all the way from the UK! Thank you so much to Suzanne & her furbabies, Shelby, Trouble, Treacle, Poppet, Phoebe & their Fur Angel Doebe. Ani loved all of the toys! George has even played with one of them already too. Here's Ani again smelling a card LOL! It's becoming a habit with him i think.

Anakin & I got a nice card in the mail today from Ryan & Winston the cat of Penscaola, FL (Where Ani & I live!) Hehe! Ani likes to smell the card. He even tried to bite it! Thank you so much Ryan & Winston :)

Anakin got a toy mouse & card from Gary & his kitties all the way from Canada! Anakin loves this little toy! Thank you Gary :) (The toy mouse was made by the ladies of the Animal Welfare Association. All profits go to help homeless cats)

A note from Anakin's Grandmother (my mom)

Anakin's Grandmother here! I went to pick up my granddaughter for her gymnastics class and I went early so I would have time to visit with Ani. I forgot my camera AGAIN! I know, threes the charm, so next time I have to remember! Ani was in go-to-town play mode and wouldn't stop for nothing. He is feeling so much better since he has been pooping out those awful worms. Nasty things! Poor little guy. And I did get to see for myself how he uses the litter box. He had one leg forward a little and the other one a little to the back and he lifts the backend up and goes. Just like all the other kitties out there. He even grunts a little. I know, too much information! Or not, for some of you that are interested in these things. I watched Ani play and I could tell he had grown more then I thought when he would sit under the chair. I remember in an early video of him in the hallway and he was under the chair the rail was over his head. Now his head is over the rail. His front legs are getting very long and he is still walking around just fine. If we can just rid his cute little body of those pesty worms, the little man will be on his way to a healthy life!

Anakin's Vet visit this morning....

I took Anakin to the vet the vet this morning for another deworming. Little Ani weighs just over 2 pounds now and is doing great! His little booty looks like an normal kitten's should and will hopefully stay that way. She was happy with the weight he has gained since he has been underweight for his age. We are continuing with his current diet & still adding Nutracal, pureed pumpkin & Cat Lax to his food. Ani goes back to the vet in about 2 weeks for his next shots. Anakin is making "happy feet" on my lap as I type this :) It's almost lunch time for him.

Anakin LOVES Friskies Cat Fishing game on the iPad. He doesn't care too much to catch the slow fish but really likes to go after the faster ones. He's pretty good too!
