🌈 Rest in Peace Mr Big Head 💚 He was a feral cat that I and a few other nice people in my neighborhood fed and cared for along with Mama Moo Moo ( Romeo & Quincy, Kazu & Forrest’s mom) and a few other feral cats. We aren’t exactly sure how old Mr Big Head was, but one of the ladies thinks he was close to 20 years old. I started feeding him back in 2020 after catching Mama Moo Moo & her kittens. That’s when I started feeding Mama Moo Moo and Mr Big Head showed up to eat too. Over the few years Mr Big Head spent most of his time down at my house because it was getting harder for him to get around and take the long walk to the other cat feeding neighbors houses. He would wait outside my front door for me to feed him breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. He also slept in the straw filled cat condo that I have out front for the cats. He got to where I could get within a foot of him to give him his food and sometimes lightly pat him on his back once or twice while he was eating, but that was all he would allow. Sometimes he would still hiss and growl at me as I brought his food out for him. Last week I noticed that he seemed like he was losing weight and his bottom jaw seemed like it was swollen. So I got together with the other neighbors that help feed the cats and we made a plan to catch Mr Big Head and get him to the vet. My neighbor tried many times over the years to trap him to get him neutered. He would never go into a trap. He was too smart for that. So I suited up in a extra heavy jacket and thick gloves Sunday evening went out to give Mr Big Head his dinner and let him eat while I watched and then I had to grab him and put him in the trap. For an old kitty he did put up quite a fight and even tried to bite me through the gloves. My neighbors were watching close by and ran over as soon as I had him to help me get him in the trap and lock it. I felt absolutely awful doing that to him. I know he feels like I betrayed him and that breaks my heart, but we were doing what’s best for him because he was sick. He slept in the trap in my neighbor‘s garage overnight, and I met with her early the next morning to take him to the vet. Mr Big Head had a severe mouth infection, stomatitis and probably advanced FIV so we helped him to the Rainbow Bridge. We brought him home and buried him on the side of our house where he liked to sleep in the sun. I really wanted to be able to love on him, but he wouldn’t let me. I know he was grateful that I fed him every day and got him a house to live in. I know Mama Moo Moo will really miss him because they were such good friends. I am thankful that she was not out front when I had to catch him because I think that might’ve traumatized her. I am still working on befriending Mama Moo Moo maybe one day I will be able to pet her. I already miss going out my front door and seeing Mr Big Head there waiting for his next meal. Mr Big Head I hope you are resting easy in the sun at the Rainbow Bridge 🌈 We love you & miss you xoxo! 💚
Miko & Milo both had their “Trouble Nuggets” removed yesterday & are doing great. Here’s the last pics I had with their lil pom poms before their snip snips yesterday! 😹 ❤️ They are getting so big! They are now 6 months old & Miko weighs 8.3 lbs and Milo weighs 7.6 lbs.
Here’s Milo 🩶😻 the other kitten! He’s a handsome boy too just like his brother Miko! I posted Miko pics a few days ago.
Anakin doing what he loves! Napping all day 😻💙 This is Ani’s current favorite sleeping spot on the couch in the living room. Pixie gets her staples out tomorrow & Mika is doing so much better too.
🧡 Mika & Pixie Update ❤️ & Anakin too 💙 overall they’re both doing much better and feeling tons better. Thank you so much for all the well wishes for them. We really do appreciate it.
🧡 Mika my handsome boy, is feeling much better and eating his own food again. He still having a bit of poopy issues. In the picture above that was after his fourth bum bath since last Wednesday. We also took the clippers and scissors and gave him a sanitary cut. We trim down his pantaloons pretty short and the underside of his tail. Right now he is just taking probiotics and his prednislone.
❤️ Pixie sweetie girl, decided she did not like the lavender puffy flower cone I got for her. You may have seen it in my comments on one of the other posts. She couldn’t walk with how floppy it was down by her leg so she couldn’t go up and down the stairs by my bed. She is doing fine with the blue cone that she came home with from the Vet Hospital. She has one more week before her staples come out. Right now Pixie is just taking probiotics and will stay set up in my room for at least the next week maybe two I’m not sure yet. It depends on what the vet says once she gets her staples out. In this pic she’s getting a break from her cone to eat. I tried to leave it off while I’m in here, but the first thing she tries to do is lick her belly. So she has to wear the cone.
💙 Anakin it is a little upset by everything going on. He loves routine and right now things have been so weird. Normally, he eats breakfast in my bedroom and hangs out in my room a lot. But it’s been hard to have him in here with Pixie set up in here with her different foods on the floor. Anakin cannot eat those foods. I do pick them up sometimes and let him come in here and sleep in his chair for a while, but it’s not the same. He’s been eating his food out in the kitchen with the other cats and he really does not like that either. I tried to have him eat in my bedroom, but then he doesn’t like how Pixie looks with her cone and that he can smell that she smells different right now . He’s such a sensitive little boy but we are making the best of it. He does get calming treats everyday and he has a nice sleeping spot on the couch that I made for him that he really likes.
It’s been very hectic around here, trying to keep up with everything for all of the cats and do everything else I need to do everyday to. I will make posts when I can about how everyone’s doing. I’m also still planning to get a s a l e put up on my site too. Thank you again for all your love and support. We really do appreciate it! ❤️❤️❤️
💜 Pixie is home & doing well! But Mika is sick right now though 😿 I just cannot catch a break right now! I am so sorry, I was unable to post a Pixie update yesterday. Pixie came home yesterday afternoon and has been set up in my bedroom. They said Pixies’s hernia tear was pretty much in the same spot but a little longer this time. She has 11 or 12 staples that will come out in two weeks. She also has, “The Cone of Courage” to keep her from messing with her incision and staples. The cone is on her when I’m not in the bedroom with her or sleeping at night. If I’m in there or feeding her, I take the cone off so she does get big breaks from wearing it. She’s been a bit more down today but I think the 3rd day after surgery is the most rough. I’m hoping her perks up more tomorrow and wants to eat more. She’s also on the Cerenia nausea med & Mirtazapine appetite stimulant to help with all of that. 😿 Mika, I didn’t get to post about him yet because I was hoping it was just an upset stomach for a day or so. Mika has been not feeling well not wanting to eat and having pretty bad diarrhea since Sunday. Monday when I was at the vet with Pixie they prescribed me medication’s for Mika and he has been on those meds since then. Metronidazole antibiotic, Cerenia for nausea, Mirtazapine for appetite stimulant, proviable probiotics, Nutracal when he hasn’t eaten enough that day. This morning he seemed more dehydrated and was still having diarrhea pretty bad and not wanting to eat. So I took him to my vet this morning. His bloodwork was great it only showed inflammation which makes sense with all the gastrointestinal upset he is having. His fecal was negative. So they gave him subq fluids because he was a little dehydrated. I am also now also giving him Prednislone once a day. She thinks he either has Gastroenteritis or IBD. ❤️ I hope they both start to feel better soon! I’ve been using the Max Pill Reminder app to keep track of all the kitties meds. I’ve been using it for a while but with all these meds for 2 sick cats & then everyone else’s meds snd supplements too it has been overwhelming to deal and that app has been a huge help for me. This has been very stressful for all of us. I just want them to be all better soon! I will keep you posted when I can about how they are both doing. Thank you so much for all of the love, support and well wishes! We really appreciate it so much ❤️❤️
💜 Pixie had hernia surgery today 💜 We rushed her to the Veterinary Surgery Service Inc. in Fort Walton Beach, FL ( about an hour and a half from my house ) since they had an opening today. Pixie has another abdominal hernia and her bladder has again slipped through the tear. She had surgery today to put her bladder back where it belongs and fix the abdominal tear too. I noticed she was not feeling well Friday night and had not eaten very much and then saw the lump of her bladder on her belly. I took her to the vet Saturday morning, and they did bloodwork, urinalysis, and fecal. Her blood work was OK. She just had a elevated white cells. Her urinalysis and fecal were both OK too. They did an abdominal ultrasound and saw that that lump is her bladder again not where it belongs. I secluded her to my bedroom and set her up in there with the water litter box so I could keep an eye on how much she was eating and drinking and making sure she was still able to urinate. She has been on Cerenia for nausea, buprenorphine for pain, mirtazapine for appetite, stimulant, and probiotics for her diarrhea. I took her to my regular vet first thing Monday morning, and they confirmed the hernia and were able to get us an appointment today for surgery. So we hurried here to Fort Walton, and she will be having surgery with the same doctor that performed it last time, Dr Wight. He said that he’s not sure why this has happened again. She could just have a very weak abdominal wall or it could be a congenital defect. They called and said she did great through the surgery. She’s resting comfortably and has good pain meds. We should be able to pick her up tomorrow afternoon. The surgery is expensive and the two vet visits she already had, then she will have at least one or two follow up visits at my regular vet. So I will be putting up a Pixie’s Surgery / New Years Sale on my website for my Fantasy Cat Art & Gifts soon. I will make another post and let you know once everything on my website is on sale. I just can’t believe this has happen to sweet little Pixie again. I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to keep up with the comments on her right now. I have a lot going on right now and it’s all been pretty overwhelming ❤️
