New Photo ~ The Boys! Angel's Birthday & Our 18th Wedding Anniversary

 

The Boys!! :) It's going to be a busy, busy weekend over here. Our daughter Angel turns 9 years old tomorrow and tonight is her Birthday Party. Then Sunday is my hubby, Dewey and my 18th Wedding Anniversary :) We also have family coming in town for the weekend so it should be fun! I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial day weekend & thank you to those who are serving or have served in the military.

New Photo ~ Handsome Mika & OrthoPets Update

 

Handsome Mika sitting on the chair by our bed :) He's so sweet!! I have been in contact with my vet tech at OrthoPets about Mika's House Slipper. She called & talked to me about the problems I was having with the slipper. She gave me a lot of good ideas to try like feeding his special treats when we are putting the slipper on to distract him from what we are doing. She also made me a video using her own cat showing me how to hold Mika's leg so he is more comfortable & relaxed when we are putting the slipper on. I will keep you all posted on how it all goes. Question... Why are we trying to put a slipper on Mika if he can walk around fine now? Mika does not walk around in a way that I would call "fine". Yes he can get around where he wants to go but on the hard floor he is not nearly as agile or mobile as Anakin is even on two legs. Mika walks hunched over & hobbles along very slowly on the hard floor. It is only on the padded carpet that he can kind of hop & run really well. I think getting him this padded slipper will help him be able to hop and run on the hard floor. Even if this slipper doesn't work out at least I will know that I tried to help him be more mobile. I will post some video this week of Mika walking around on both the floor and carpet so you all can see what I mean.

Mika with his House Slipper. I'm getting video and photos together of us trying to get the slipper onto Mika's foot. I have to send them to OrthoPets so they can see how we are doing with the slipper. So far it's been a lot harder than I thought it would be. Mika doesn't want it on his foot and the way the slipper is made it's a lot harder than I thought it would be to actually get his foot into the slipper. We are definitely not giving up. We are able to send the slipper back for adjustments if after viewing the video & photos OrthoPets decides it needs to be adjusted.

New Video! Anakin Bathing Mika

What a difference a few months makes! Remember the hissing and growling Anakin did at Mika when I was first introducing them back in February? Well look at these two BFFs now. Anakin had been bathing Mika for a few minutes before I even started filming. How sweet are they! They really are just like two brothers now.
