New Photo ~ Anakin The Sunggle Bunny!

 
Anakin sleeping in my lap :) He's such a little snuggle bunny! In other news, we had to discontinue Ani's antibiotics for his Gingivitis. They were really upsetting his GI Tract even with taking Probiotics. Also the tarter treats are a no go as well. He just gulps down the treats too fast and doesn't even chew them. So instead, we are hoping that the two days of antibiotics he did take help. I also got some cat toothpaste and I'm using gauze wrapped around my finger to rub his teeth and gums which should help a lot.

    They have cat toothpaste? Go figure! I bet they must have a cat toothbrush as well. I remember years ago, I had my vet scrape off the tartre off the cats' teeth each time I took them for a visit. That was when I started them on dry cat food. Then after years, came the treats. The gauze should do a good job. Purrs to you, sweet Ani, Kathy

      Yep, cat toothpaste! :) I did get a little kitty tooth brush too. I'm trying out differntthings to see what he likes best since this will be a daily thing for him :) Thanks Kathy! Purrs to you too.

    I happened across your site and noticed Anakin was having trouble with his teeth and wasn't tolerating antibiotics - a former vet of mine recommended Biotene Veterinarian Drinking Water Additive for my cats plaque problems. They also have an antiseptic gel by Biotene for gum and teeth problems that might do the trick as well. You can do search on Google to find both. Hope that helps!

    You can help Anakin clean his teeth naturally by giving him a strip of raw meat like steak or chicken. This wont make him ill (cats are evolved to eat raw meat - look at lions!) but it will make him have to use his carnassial teeth in a scissor action to chew the meat, rubbing them together and helping to clean off plaque and tartar :-)
