New Video! Anakin & Our Dog Buddy

I am often asked how Anakin is getting along with our dog, Buddy. They are getting a long really well. This video shows Anakin bathing, kneading & purring in his favorite bed with Buddy close by. Buddy has been around our cats his whole life and doesn't mind them at all.

Christmas Treats & Toys for Anakin & my other kitties :) This one comes to us all the way from the UK from @Stephiecw ! Thank you so much to Stephanie & Arfa for all of these great goodies! Arfa is a special kitty who has been a really trooper and made it through a lot in his life. He was injured and had a long recovery to heal his fractured pelvis and ended up losing one of his legs. Thanks to his angel of an owner Stephanie he has recovered and is now doing great :) Here's a pix of Anakin in the box of course, sniffing all of the treats. He then quickly took the lid off of the whiskas container and went to the other side of the bed to chew ok it! LOL!

New Photos ~ Anakin Printer Supervisor

 

Here's Anakin on the job as my personal printer supervisor :) He comes running when he hears the printer. He quickly climbs up to the second level of the tall cat condo. From there he can get right on top of my art table and run over to the printer. When he's done he either hops down using the chairs at the art table or hops down from his cat condo.

Anakin decided to take over my computer chair for his afternoon nap. Here's Ani all comfy in my chair having a dream while he sleeps. Yes, he was sleeping with his eyes half open LOL! If I had to guess I'd say he's dreaming about chasing Pixie around the house!

Anakin sitting purrty on his stairs. I had things moved around while I was cleaning & he was wondering why the stairs were there instead of in front of the window. Also so many people have asked... How long is Anakin's Tail? Well I measured

it the best I could and his tail is between 12-13 inches long. Yes, that's long isn't it & he's not even full grown! Just to compare, I also measured Trixie's tail, hers is 10" long and George's tail is around 11" long.

New Video!! Anakin's Itching Ear

I am often ask what Anakin does when he has an itch on his head or behind his ears. Either he will rub his paws over his head till it goes away or we will scratch it for him. This video shows how we know Ani has an itch. Under the cat condo he starts shaking his head. Then as he runs to the kitchen you'll see him turn his head to the side and put his ear back. This means he has an itch. So I scratch his head for him till he feels better. Then he runs off to mess with Trixie LOL!

New Photo ~ Anakin The Sunggle Bunny!

 

Anakin sleeping in my lap :) He's such a little snuggle bunny! In other news, we had to discontinue Ani's antibiotics for his Gingivitis. They were really upsetting his GI Tract even with taking Probiotics. Also the tarter treats are a no go as well. He just gulps down the treats too fast and doesn't even chew them. So instead, we are hoping that the two days of antibiotics he did take help. I also got some cat toothpaste and I'm using gauze wrapped around my finger to rub his teeth and gums which should help a lot.

Anakin Vet Visit & Mischievous Ani!

 

Ankin looking a little mischievous! Ani had a visit at the vet today. Over the weekend I noticed that his gums were a little red down by his gum line. It turns out he has a little bit of Gingivitis going on. So he is on an antibiotic for 10 days and will start eating a few Tarter Control Treats a day to help his gums. I also had his poop check for worms and Parasites since it's been a few months since his last check. Those tests all came back negative. Also our vet thinks she can feel Anakin's absent testicles inside. So we are just going to give them more time to hopefully work their way out on their own. Anakin was weighed today too and he now weighs whopping 5 pounds! :)

Anakin has found he can get under his steps & play there. It's so funny to see him stick his paws out from under and swat at & scare the other cats as they walk by. Also with the steps flipped over he's got a whole new play area! He has a ball climbing up and around the steps while they were flipped over :)

Anakin playing in his tunnel in the kitchen :) He loves this tunnel! He rolls it all over the kitchen floor, jumping in and out of it and bringing his toys in it too. The flash caught his eyes funny how they are each glowing a different color :)

Anakin, Trixie & Zoe ready for dinner! I love how I caught Anakin on one foot in the first pix & how you can see his reflection in the fridge in the second pix :) Zoe doesn't like to have her picture taken very much. She's a grumpy old gal. She loves me but doesn't want much to do with any of the other cats. Anakin quickly learned to stay out of Zoe's way & she doesn't want to play with him ever! Trixie is really great with Anakin. She is the motherly type and loves to lick & clean all of the other cats (except for Zoe of course!) Funny how I ended up with three cats with such similar markings. Zoe is the oldest at 14 years old. We took her in as a stray when she was less that a year old. Trixie & Pixie are sisters and were feral cats that I rescued from my dad's work 2 years ago. So they very well could be related to Anakin since he came from the same feral group.

New Video! Anakin & The Paper Bag!

Anakin loved the brown paper bag wrapping that came in the mail on his latest gift. (A Big Thank You to The Smith Family!) He played with that paper for days! Anakin hid inside the paper bag. He played on the paper attacking & biting it too. He plays just like any other kitten & is such a happy little guy! Anakin plotting his next "attack" on Pixie. LOL! From the looks of this pix she has no idea it's coming as soon as she jumps down! It's not really an attack.... It's more like Anakin running up to Pixie.... Pixie running away.... Anakin chasing her some more.... Pixie running under the bed.... Anakin sits and waits for her gets bored and goes off to play with Trixie or George instead :) Pixie running & hiding does make Anakin feel purrrty big, bad & tough though. In other news, It was asked how Ani's UTI is after his meds. He's doing much better & no longer peeing on his bedding. I've started him on GNC Pets Ultra Mega Urinary Tract Support Gel once a day as a preventative and so far so good :)

How are Anakin & our dog Buddy getting along? They are doing really well. Here they are napping near each other. Anakin loves to sleep in that little Hidey-hole bed. Buddy doesn't pay the cats much attention at all anyway. Ani does still hiss at Buddy if he gets too near him. I think Anakin is worried Buddy might step on him so he stays out of his way most of the time. Buddy is big, old, loud and kind of clumsy, like a bull in a china shop but of course we love him anyway :)
